BMW's Frankfurt Concept Unsheathed
A couple days ago pictures surfaced of BMW's upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show concept vehicle, known as Vision Z. The images showed a covered car being unloaded from a truck, and while there were obvious efforts to disguise the vehicle, several telltale lines peaked through.
Now, with the help of the very talented Jon Sibal, the cover has been removed. Sibal, who is a professional illustrator, worked his magic on the images and came up with what should be a fairly representative version of the show car. There's an animation of the transformation at BMWblog. Jon's interpretation shows a four-door concept, based on the panel break of the front door. The nose features a much more dramatic take on the back-cut nose and twin-kidney look, more closely resembling the current Mitsubishi Lancer.
The big question is, what exactly does the Vision Z foretell? Is the next generation of 6 Series? Or perhaps the design language for the next 3 Series? Will it be a new model category altogether? We'll know more in a month, when the Frankfurt Motor Show begins.
